Clutch Fact: The Berna Bag was named for Sara's daughter, Bernadette, who was diagnosed with a tree nut allergy requiring an epi pen when she was young. After being rushed to the hospital two years ago on vacation because the family forgot to pack Bernadette's epi pens, Sara vowed to never be caught without them again. Bernadette now carries a stocked Berna Bag in her backpack every day to school, and the Gorman family keeps a second stocked Berna Bag in the kitchen cabinet at home.
